Doug
Dawson's award winning pastels reflect the diverse interests of
this articulate, philosophical and sentimental artist. His work
favors urban night scenes, cityscapes, portraits and magical landscapes.
His luminescent night scenes powerfully evoke the mystique of the
dark, - "Places
that were totally uninteresting during the day become magical in
the night." His portrait studies are rich with personality - "Representing
the dignity and divine of mankind." Doug shares his love of the
outdoors through emotion-filled landscapes which range in focus
from intimate rural scenes to sweeping vistas.
