Barbara
Zaring received her BA of Fine Arts from Depauw University, then
studied etching at the Pratt Printmaking Institute in New York.
During her 30 years of painting brilliant fauvist landscapes, she
has been featured in a number of publications including Southwest
Art, New Mexico Magazine, Antiques and Fine Arts, among others.
Currently, Ms. Zaring has transited completely into the world of
abstract expression. This technique demonstrates her ability to
adapt and develop new mixed media concepts, incorporating elements
of chine colle on paper and canvas.
"A whole new
world of imagery unfolded for me when I returned to printmaking a
few years ago. Based on my decades of meditating, these mixed media
works address experiences of impermanence and the interconnectedness
of all things."
