Slow start, Big Finish. We are very happy to report that Saturday's watercolor demo ended on a high note. Spike performed wonderfully to what was initially a small crowd to what turned into a very nice turnout.
Business's on Kit Carson Road will be staying open late, from 5-7pm every first Saturday through the summer season, offering various entertainment, openings and more. The first official Kit Carson Gallery Walk was a great introduction to the summer season here in Taos. The turnout by both locals and visitors was a fantastic boost to moral for the town. We here, at Total Arts Gallery are very pleases to say that we had an especially good turnout and are looking forward to next month's event which will coincide with our next Three Man Show with artists Kevin Beilfuss, Kim English and John David Phillips on July 2nd.
Taos Plaza Live! is a free annual concert series that takes place on the Historic Taos Plaza from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. every Thursday evening during the summer months. ![]() The plaza was crowded, here to enjoy Northern New Mexico’s All Stars, which included members of Red River’s Damn Band and other local favorites. Enjoy a full summer season of free music on the Plaza, with a great lineup of local musicians, encompassing all kinds of music. Whether you like jazz, blues, country & western, rock, or traditional New Mexican/Native American music, there is an evening of music for you!
Through the years, the Hotel Martin was the hub of Taos' social, intellectual and artistic activity. Later owners renamed it the Taos Inn, added the popular neon thunderbird sign (Taos' oldest) and the carved reception desk. In 1982, the Inn was placed on the National and State Registers of Historic Places. To add to the celebration, Teruko Wilde and Peggy Immel were invited to show their works as an additional salute to Taos Inn's tradition of recognizing and supporting the artists of Taos. The reception held on June 2nd had a fantastic turn out and their works will remain for three months helping to continue and commemorate this monumental anniversary.
